Red Empire Dresser
This antique Empire-style dresser was redone in a custom "Crimson Silk" deep red paint finish. The customer chose this piece from the WHAT'S NEXT FURNITURE inventory. A "translucent" dark brown glaze was added to highlight the imperfections in the wood of this curvy design.
The original piece had extremely damaged wood veneer on the top and edges, plus on parts of the drawers and other surfaces. All of the top veneer, plus other sections, were removed and partially sanded. A new drawer bottom plus some other repairs were needed. The painted sections were coated with clear polyurethane for protection. New deep brown/bronze knobs added a design element.
